Zombies
Now I love zombie movies. The George Romero stuff was always great. The remake of Dawn of the Dead was awesome too (didn't expect it to be). Now I just watched one called Trailer Park Terror. It was awesomely bad...But bad in the old campy cheesy 80's movies type of way. The fact that the one zombie fancies himself to be a Rockabilly was just pure genius. If you like zombie movies and camp 80's movies this will work for you.

Sirius/XM
I love satellite radio. Yeah I became a mark for it when I got the free radio when Howard Stern gave them out in Union Square. I had sirius since that day, until......I got my new GM car which only had XM in it. Luckily when my free trial was up the merger became official so I got the best of sirius package for my radio. So I got rid of my sirius receiver to give my car a cleaner look. But I hate the music channels on XM. Definately not as good as sirius'. Hopefully the merger will eventually merge the best of the music channels too...I miss my Shade 45 and my Raw Dog.

truth.com
I like the fact people are trying to snuff out the use of cigs in the world...BUT I hate those damn truth.com commercials...they are some of the most annoying things I have ever seen between joe blowhole and the dancing skeletons I want to start smoking just to annoy them.

Halloween
I blinked and Halloween was never here....I see Christmas trees, lights, balls, and all this holiday stuff. Where's turkey day? I haven't seen one thing that even acknowledges that there is a holiday after Halloween, which according to the stores I think ends in the 1st week of October. And Christmas starts on the day after Columbus day. Look there goes Santa now on Nov 2.

Marvel
What the hell did Marvel do to poor spidey with this brand new day crap. I just picked up the vol.1 graphic novel. MJ a superhero or even hinting at it? really? And a villain called negative man? What is he like debbie downer from SNL. I rather read ultimate spider at this point...man my posts are becoming more and more cynical...I think I need a vacation.
By the way for those who know me, I am dressing like a Viking for halloween...I might post a pic or 2

The Little Rascals
I have to get this. You all might think I am nuts. (How many of you are out there reading this silly blog anyway?. But The Little Rascals are out in a box set, uncut, unedited, with all the stuff that is considered politically incorrect today. I really can't wait to watch this. I loved the lil rascals growing up. They were just so much fun as a kid..I didn't realize how they were in the middle and end of the great depression and all the ridiculousness that the our gang kids pulled. I can not wait to revisit my youth.

Web Of Shadows
This game is so awesome..You can web swing all over NYC. You can run along the the streets or swing from the rooftops of skyscrapers. Symbiotes, Kingpin, Moon Knight, Black Cat, and Luke Cage to name a few of the Marvel co stars in this fun Spider Man game. Think Grand theft auto with out the R rating. Spidey also banters a lot in this too just like in the comics...Oh yeah theres either the red or "black" path you can take to continue on in this game. So are you a hero or a villain?

HULK SMASH HULK
I was really impressed with the new hulk movie. Ed Norton played a great roll in it. The hulk looked more realistic this time. There was a villain that actually was fun to watch. No abomintion there...I loved the quick backstory in short clips to explain how the hulk was made without dragging there feet. This marvel production studio is doing a great job with their films so far. Even their animated features.

The Intrepid
I drive by the Intrepid every day. Why didn't it get painted when it got retrofitted? It is sitting back at its slip and it looks the same as it was when it was sent to get repaired. Maybe I am jumping the gun and they are going to paint it before the grand reopening. Hopefully it will be totally repainted before it reopens in a few week.

The Monster Squad
I love this movie. It was so underrated when it first came out. A great hybrid of The Lost Boys and The GOONIES. Just the fact that all of Universal's monsters are in it is in itself a treat. The creature from the black lagoon is in this movie..who would have saw this coming. I really don't want to get too much into the plot but the fact the dracula is in this movie as the lead villain is of course natural and frankenstein being portrayed as a sweet heart instead of a monster is a great difference in earlier portrayals. Fave lines.....WOLFMEN HAVE NARDS...IS SHE A VERSION....and MUMMY IN MY CLOSET. Watch this damn movie

TheDailyShark.com will be happy
Terminator: TSCC, has been picked up for the whole season. I guess fox realized they will have a hit on there hands if they let it gain an audience. The X-FILES wasn't a phenom series in its first year either. Congrats Shark you got your wish. And I am really glad too.
Indy and the Crystal Skull
Now, I am not saying this movie is good or bad, but I like the mythology behind it. I wasn't upset by the inclusion of aliens in the franchise. There has been theories for many years that our ancient civilizations were contacted by beings from other worlds. Egyptians, Mayans, Druids, and the Aztecs are all communities that have unexplained technologies and phenomena behind them. How is it possible that pyramids were built in different places in the world? The technology it took to make the booby traps in the pyramids. The way mummification was even used by the chinese? Now I don't understand why people are so upset about aliens in Indy when the ARK of the covenant with the spirits of GOD is so believable in the 1st movie? Or how about the holy grail and the Knights Templar. Is the crystal skull that more far fetched then those articles in those parts of the series? I am more upset at the bad CGI thats in the movie. ILM is supposed to be the best special effects company out there, and a lot and I mean a lot of the effects looked like effects. Mythology good......Effects bad...

I tried. I really did try. I tried to stay away from facebook and myspace. But I could not. I do have to say though I am talking to people that I was friends with in the past and lost touch with. So as I was not trying to join the borg collective I got sucked in. Facebook really isn't that bad its easy to use and I am talking to people I knew from grammar school, High School, College, and various jobs I worked. Its great being able to catch up with people I haven't seen in years too....I just wish I thought of it 1st.

Criss Angel
I hate Criss Angel. From his stupid Long Island accent to his cockiness that should not even be there. I could pay a whole bunch of stooges to stand around and oooh and aaah at nothing too. He doesn't even pull his stunts off well. This is going to be one long continuous shot....then all of a sudden the continuous shot cuts to a crowd member then back to the continuous shot. Guess what? That is no way in hell considered a continuous shot. If there is any type of cut away, then its not continuous, is it? I can explain 90% of his tricks. And a lot of his stuff is not even that spectacular. Nope, can't see that mirror over the table. Wait were in the desert making a tank disappear? Hey is that a second curtain set up next to the 1st one? Why did the camera cut back to Criss Angel? And why when it cut back the second curtain went down instead of the 1st? oooooh nothing behind that said curtain. CUE the shills....ooooooohhhhh aaaaaaaahhhhh....amazing. What is amazing is a bad actor/illusionist with a lisp being as popular as he is.

if i hear this one more time....
Hi what are you guys filming? Oh really, thats nice. I didn't realize there need so many trucks and so much equipment to shoot a tv show. At this point I am usually carrying something or loading or unloading equipment when people ask this. I know its a novelty to people but I am really tired of people thinking its ok to interrupt some ones conversation because you need to satisfy your curiousity. This was just a venting post. BLAAAAAAAAH.. Back to normal tommorrow.

Lego Batman
I think its pretty clear enough already that I have geek tendencies. I am big time comic book fanboy. Having over 5000 comics kind of proves that fact. So when I saw that Lego Batman was coming out for video game systems I was pretty stoked. I picked up Lego Star Wars last year and was hooked. I really never expected to be but its so funny how the characters in the game mock themselves. In Lego Batman you have the same premise of having to solve puzzles while trying to defeat Batman's Rogues Gallery. The Danny Elfman score from the 1989 Batman movie gives this game a legit feel to it too. Its just a really fun game to play, and for all you fanboy, geeks, or gamers out there, I say get this game.

Knight Rider GPS
Knight Rider GPS by Mio - Let K.I.T.T. give you directions!
I might be considered a real geek for liking this, but since GPS came out I thought this would be a great idea. I am so close to buying this especially since my friends say my car could be KITT's offspring.
Here is a pic of my car. What do you guys think?( I ask this question as if anyone is reading this blog or actually cares.)
I AM LEGEND(I know really up to date here)
This is something that has been irking me since I watched I AM LEGEND. The dark seekers are supposed to be vampires. Instead of a psychological war that the vampires waged on Neville every night we get a movie of cannibalistic mole people who are all supposedly working on instinct except for the one Leader who organizes them. How the hell did that happen? Why isn't there more of these smart dark seekers who can set traps on Neville? It just took away the really what made the book great. Maybe this prequel that they are making for I AM LEGEND will touch more on the psychology of the book and the way society goes from millions to just one guy left in nyc. If you guys have read the book you know the movie didn't even touch on why the title of the book is called I AM LEGEND. I don't want to write about it here just in case someone hasn't read it and now is interested in it. I know movies are not usually as good as the books but come on. Give me just a little something more with this movie. I know this deviates from my Knight Rider post about not wanting to have to think about what I am watching, but I had my thinking cap on for this one...

Knight Rider
Why is it that people can't just accept mindless fun on tv anymore? Why does a tv show have to be thought provoking? I like to escape my every day life now and then and watch show that i dont have to think to actually watch it. This incarnation of Knight Rider is exactly what a guy in my age demographic likes. Fast hot cars. Fast hot women. And a plot that you do not have to be a rocket scientist to figure out. Kitt and Michael get a mission, they go undercover, Mike hooks up with the bad guys, flirts with Sara who is sexy as hell. Kitt goes fast transforms 2 or 3 times. Saves Mike and shows over....Sorry if i seem so shallow that I just sometimes want a show with some escapism.

Life on Mars
Hey,
I have been inspired by a family member to start a blog on all things media. I am in the film business and went to school for it too. Not saying I am an expert by any means but I am tired of all these so called experts just talking out of there proverbial asses. I was watching Life on Mars tonight. I was afraid to watch it at first but I really was hooked in the 1st ten minutes. I really wanted to know how they were going to be able to pull off the grittiness of 1973 NYC. And I have to say they did a really good job. I even found that including the twin towers was amazing. The way it was shot with the film stock, lighting, and filters giving the past a more antique look was a brilliant move. Harvey Keitel being Harvey Keitel is fun to watch too. I am looking foward to seeing if this series continues to be good or will it be a novelty act that wears itself out.
