Jose Reyes: The Return?

Twitter is really hurting my head over this. The domestic violence situation has left a very bad taste in some mouths, while others are willing to look past it because charges were dropped, Reyes served his MLB suspension, and he may have had counseling. Now Twitter has exploded into warring factions over these issues and whether or not the Mets should sign him because of them.
Folks on Twitter are attacking each other over this. It's getting ridiculous. You don't have to agree with everyone's opinions but just respect that they can have them. Don't agree with them and the discussion starts to get ugly, back off and either return to it later or not at all.

Now, let's take the DV situation out of this scenario. Should the Mets sign Reyes the player?

I say no. Yes the Mets need help, but I don't think that he is going to really add anything to the team. I don't pretend to be an expert on this at all and you can toss abbreviations of any variety meaning some kind of number making Reyes look good and I still think he doesn't fit. He's past his prime. You guys that want him are thinking about the late 2000's Reyes and not the Reyes from today. If you want to rally and tweet at the Mets to get help for the team, get on board with a player that can help you in the long run. Where is he going to play? Second? Move Walker to Third? Then what happens to Herrera? I thought he is the heir apparent to Murphy? Maybe the Mets should be looking for a catcher who stays healthy? Maybe a first basemen that hits for avg and not HRs?

You tell me folks.
