METSCELLANEOUS: The Mets have now lost four consecutive games to match a season-high...It's the fifth time this season the Mets have lost four games in a row (last - July 27-30)...New York is now 10-17 since the All-Star break...The Mets are now 29-30 at home and are 3-13 in their last 16 games at Citi Field dating to July 8.
METS BELOW .500: It's the first time the Mets have been below .500 since they were 5-6 on April 17 at Cleveland.
HOMERS AT HOME: With Travis d'Arnaud's home run tonight, the Mets have hit 40 home runs in their last 26 home games and 77 overall home runs at home this season...New York hit a Citi Field single-season record 85 home runs last season.
METS BULLPEN: Retired all 19 batters they faced in tonight's game with eight strikeouts.
NEIL WALKER: Saw his season-high nine-game hitting streak come to a close after going 0-2 with three walks...The nine-game streak matches the longest streak by any Mets player this season (fourth time).
TRAVIS d'ARNAUD: Hit a two-run homer in the second inning for his fourth home run of the season...All four of his home runs this season have come at Citi Field...Finished the day with a career-high tying three hits...It's the 11th time in his career (third time this season) he's collected three hits.
LOGAN VERRETT: Worked 2.2 innings and allowed a career-high eight runs, earned, in his eighth loss of the season...Struck out four and walked three while allowing six hits, four of which were home runs...The last Mets pitcher to give up four home runs in a game was Bartolo Colón on April 13, 2014 at the Angels.
SETH LUGO: Worked 2.1 scoreless, hitless innings after being recalled earlier today...Four of his seven outings with the Mets this season have been scoreless appearances.
JOSÉ REYES: Went 2-5 with a double, RBI and two runs scored while playing 7.0 innings for Brooklyn (A) of the New York-Penn League in his second game of a major league rehabilitation assignment...Reyes has been on the 15-Day Disabled List since July 27 with a left oblique strain.
PADRES HOMERS: Homered four times in today's win to match a team season-high for homers in a game...It's the seventh time this season the Padres have homered four times in a game and the first time since June 24 at Cincinnati.
PADRES FIRST INNING: San Diego's five-run first inning was the second time this season they've scored at least five runs in the first inning...The Padres scored six first-inning runs on June 1 vs. Seattle.
RYAN SCHIMPF: Hit his first career grand slam in the first inning and a two-run home run in the third inning...The multi-homer game is the second of his career while his six RBI are a career high...Was the second grand slam by a member of the Padres this season (also Alex Dickerson on May 10 at Chicago-NL)...All 12 of Schimpf's home runs have come since July 1...The 12 homers would lead the National League since July 1 and be tied for the second-most in the majors since July 1 pending results of tonight's games.
JABARI BLASH: Connected on a solo home run in the first inning for his third home run of the season..All three of his home runs this season have come this month (August 3, August 9 and today).
CHRISTIAN BETHANCOURT: Hit his sixth home run of the season with a solo homer in the third inning...Was his first home run since July 17.
PAUL CLEMENS: Tossed a season-high tying 5.0 innings and allowed three runs, earned, to earn his second win of the season...Struck out three and walked three...Tonight's start was his sixth of the season (fourth for San Diego)...This six career starts in a single-season set a new career high for Clemens.
BRANDON MAURER: Pitched 1.0 scoreless inning for his fifth save of the season...In his last 24 games since June 11, Maurer has a 1.73 ERA (five earned runs/26.0 innings).
