FLUSHING, N.Y., October 4, 2016 – The New York Mets today announced that lefthanded pitcher Steven Matz underwent arthroscopic removal of spurs from the left elbow at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. He also received a PRP injection in his left shoulder. The surgery went as planned and Steven will be fully recovered for spring training.
Earlier this season, third baseman David Wright underwent successful surgery performed by Dr. Robert Watkins to repair a herniated disc in his neck. The procedure was cervical discectomy and fusion. David has been performing his physical rehab activity in California.

Additionally, lefthanded pitcher Anthony Kay, who was selected with the 31st overall pick of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft, underwent Tommy John surgery today at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
