Featured is a Shea Stadium ashtray given to President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964. Johnson assumed the Presidency in 1963, after President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. The New York Mets presented Johnson with this honorary ash tray modeled after Shea Stadium. The tray features ash stains, and the plaque commemorating Johnson shows some signs of wear and has a plate that reads “1964 DEDICATION SHEA STADIUM PRESENTED TO LYNDON B. JOHNSON FROM (engraved signature of Bill Shea”. The wood that makes up the ashtray similarly shows signs of wear, however has no cracks and is in overall good condition. This would make a great item for any Mets collector or history buff!
