Mets: Roster Moves

FLUSHING, N.Y., April 21, 2017 – The New York Mets today announced that they have placed infielders Lucas Duda (hyperextended left elbow) and Wilmer Flores (right knee infection) on the 10-Day Disabled List. Duda’s placement on the 10-Day Disabled List is retroactive to April 20. Additionally, the Mets have recalled infielder T.J. Rivera and lefthanded pitcher Sean Gilmartin from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League. Rivera will wear #54 and Gilmartin will wear #36. Both will be available for tonight’s game. 

Rivera, 28, was on the Mets 2017 Opening Day roster and saw action in four games for the Mets earlier this season going 0-3 with two walks and a run scored. In five games with the 51s, Rivera was batting .286 (6-21) with one double, one home run, four RBI and three runs scored. Last season, Rivera batted .333 (35-105) with four doubles, one triple, three home runs and 16 RBI in 33 games for the Mets. The Bronx, NY native started at second base in the National League Wild Card Game last season vs. San Francisco.

Gilmartin, 26, made one appearance for the Mets in 2017, pitching 0.2 scoreless innings on April 18 vs. Philadelphia. In 65 career games, two starts, in the major leagues, Gilmartin is 3-3 with a 3.69 ERA (31 earned runs/75.2 innings).
