MEDICAL UPDATE ON METS LHP STEVEN MATZ
FLUSHING, N.Y., August 21, 2017 - Mets LHP Steven Matz was examined today at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Matz underwent an MRI and CT scan of his left elbow and also received an injection for diagnostic purposes.
Based on this examination, Matz was diagnosed with irritation of the ulnar nerve in his left elbow. Surgery has been recommended to reposition the nerve and eliminate the irritation. This surgery will be scheduled in the next several days.
At this point, who hasn't been hurt on the pitching staff this season???????
