Series Notes: After winning each of its first five series of the season, New York has lost four of its last five series...With tonight's loss, the Mets will not hold a share of first place in the NL East for the first time since April 3 when they were 3-1, half a game behind Washington. 

Shutout Notes: The Mets were shut out for the first time this season...It's the Braves third shutout of the season (all have come on the road). 

Back-to-Back Homers: Johan Camargo and Ryan Flaherty hit back-to-back homers in the eighth inning...Was the second time this season Atlanta went back-to-back (also April 8 at Colorado)...It's the first time this season Mets pitching has allowed back-to-back home runs. 

Jacob deGrom: Left today's game with a hyperextended right elbow...Worked 4.0 shutout innings, allowed two hits and struck out six...Has not allowed a run in 18.1 innings, matching the second-longest scoreless streak of his career (also April 8-24, 2015)...Has allowed one run or fewer in 50 of his first 114 career starts...That is the most such starts since at least 1908 within a pitcher's first 114 career starts. 

Yoenis Céspedes: Extended his hitting streak to eight games and is batting .414 (12-29) with three doubles, three homers, eight RBI and five runs scored during the run.

Wilmer Flores: Doubled in the ninth inning to break an 0-19 streak. 

Braves Streak: Atlanta has won four in a row and six of its last seven games dating to April 25. 

Atlanta at Citi Field: The Braves have won 12 of their last 17 games at Citi Field dating to June 17, 2016. 

Sean Newcomb: Worked a career-high 7.0 innings, did not allow a run and struck out eight to earn his second win of the season...Retired the final 14 batters he faced...At the plate, Newcomb doubled in the seventh inning for his first career extra-base hit. 

Newcomb vs. the Mets: Improved to 2-2 with a 2.12 ERA (seven earned runs/29.2 innings) in five career starts vs. New York...In his 20 career starts against the rest of the major leagues, Newcomb has a 4.63 ERA (54 earned runs/105.0 innings). 

Nick Markakis: Went 3-4 with a double and one RBI tonight and has hit safely in each of his last nine games dating to April 23...Is batting .417 (15-36) during the streak.  

Ender Inciarte: Went 2-4 tonight with his first home run of the season...Has hit safely in 14 of his last 15 games, batting .368 (25-68) with two doubles, one triple, one homer, six RBI and 13 runs scored. 

Freeman vs. the Mets: Drove in one run tonight, giving him 89 RBI in his career vs. the Mets...The 89 RBI are third-most among active players vs. the Mets...Trails Chase Utley (116) and Ryan Zimmerman (100). 

Dansby Swanson: Left tonight's game for precautionary reasons with a sore left wrist.
