FLUSHING, N.Y., May 5, 2018 – The New York Mets today announced that they have designated RHP Matt Harvey for assignment and recalled RHP Hansel Robles from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League. Robles will wear #47 and is active for tonight’s game.
Robles, 27, made eight appearances for the Mets from April 2-17, going 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA (three earned runs/8.0 innings) with 13 strikeouts and one walk. After being optioned to Vegas on April 17, Robles made five appearances for the 51s, posting two saves with a 3.60 ERA (two earned runs/5.0 innings). In those five games, Robles struck out five and walked two.
In 179 career relief appearances with the Mets, Robles is 19-12 with a 3.94 ERA (86 earned runs/196.1 innings) with 219 strikeouts.
Harvey was 0-2 with a 7.00 ERA (21 earned runs/27.0 innings) in eight games, four starts, this season. In six seasons with New York, Harvey was 34-37 with a 3.66 ERA (260 earned runs/639.1 innings) in 109 games (104 starts).
