Mets Post Game Notes 5/15/18

Mets vs. Toronto: New York improved to 18-8 all-time vs. Toronto and 12-0 vs. the Blue Jays in Queens...The Mets 12-game home winning streak vs. the Blue Jays is the longest such streak for MLB team in Interleague history according to the Elias Sports Bureau...Additionally, the 12-game home winning streak vs. Toronto is the Mets' second-longest home winning streak vs. a single opponent in club history, trailing their 14-game home winning streak vs. Pittsburgh from April 21, 1986-June 7, 1987...According to Elias, the last MLB team to win its first 12 home games against one opponent were the Baltimore Orioles, who won their first 14 home games against the Mariners from 1977-1979.

Mets at Home: New York snapped its six-game home losing streak with tonight's win.

Mets in Interleague Play: The Mets improved to 186-177 in Interleague play...The .512 winning percentage is best all-time among NL clubs.

Juan Lagares: Drove in a career-high-tying three runs while logging a career-high tying four hits...Tallied two RBI with his fourth-inning single and added another run with an infield hit in the fifth...Went 2-3 off Jamie García and Is hitting .333 (9-27) against lefties this season.

Amed Rosario: Finished the game with a career-high tying three hits and a career-high-tying two RBI...Over his last nine games, Rosario is batting .379 (11-29) with three doubles and four RBI.

Devin Mesoraco: Belted a two-run homer in the eighth inning, his third of the season and second with the Mets...Reached base in all five of his plate appearances, going 2-2 with a home run and a career-high three walks (third time in his career reaching five times in a game)...The last Mets catcher to reach base five times in a game was Kevin Plawecki, who did so on September 30 of last season at Philadelphia...Scored a career-high four runs, becoming the fourth catcher in club history to cross the plate at least four times in a game (also Ronny Paulino (June 29, 2011 at Detroit), Mike Piazza (April 5, 2002 at Atlanta) and Alex Trevino (August 14, 1979 at Atlanta).

Asdrúbal Cabrera: Notched an RBI double to cap off the Mets’ five-run fourth inning...Was his third-straight game with a double...Is hitting .333 (31-93) with nine doubles, three homers, 19 RBI and 11 runs scored in his last 23 games...Has a team-high 20 extra-base hits and 13 doubles.

Luis Guillorme: Drove in Juan Lagares for his first career RBI with his eighth-inning single.

Noah Syndergaard: Defeated the Blue Jays, the organization that first drafted him, for the first time in his career...Was his first win since April 9 at Miami...Was facing Toronto for the second time…Pitched 5.0 innings, allowing two runs, earned, on five hits with seven strikeouts and two walks...In two-career starts against the Jays, Syndergaard is 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA (three earned runs/11.0 innings) with 18 strikeouts...The Mets are 2-0 in those games...Snapped a streak of four-straight quality starts...The Mets won a start of his for the first time since April 20 at Atlanta...Threw a season-high-tying 103 pitches.

Deck McGuire: Worked 3.1 innings, the longest outing by a Blue Jays reliever this season...Recorded his first career major league hit with his single in the eighth inning...Prior to McGuire, the last Blue Jays pitcher to record a hit was Marcus Stroman, who homered on May 18, 2017 at Atlanta.

Jaime García: Allowed six runs, earned, on six hits in 3.2 innings and suffered the loss...Has allowed at least six runs and pitched fewer than 4.0 innings in two of his last three outings.

Yangervis Solarte: Lined a go-ahead, two-run single in the third inning...In 15 career games vs. the Mets, Solarte is batting .351 (20-57) with 11 RBI...Has nine RBI in 12 career games at Citi Field.

Russell Martin: Made his first career appearance at shortstop after switching there in the eighth inning.
