Metscellaneous: The Mets have won three straight, improved to 4-1 on this homestand and are 5-2 in their last seven games...New York is 11-11 at home.
Sweep Notes: The Mets completed their fourth sweep of the season with their win this afternoon...It’s their first sweep in a series of three games or more at home since they took three from the Twins from September 16-19, 2016...It’s the Mets’ first sweep of Arizona since taking a three-game series here at Citi Field July 10-12, 2015.
Comebacks: Today was the Mets' 14th come from behind victory of the season and third on this homestand...The Mets 14 come-from-behind wins are third-most in the majors behind Philadelphia (17 come-from-behind wins) and Boston (15).
Back to Back Homers: Asdrúbal Cabrera and Amed Rosario hit back-to-back home runs in the seventh inning...Was the second set of back-to-back homers by the Mets this season (also, May 11 at Philadelphia when Michael Conforto and Devin Mesoraco went deep back-to-back off Hector Neris).
Mets Bullpen vs. Arizona: Tossed 9.0 scoreless innings in the three-game sweep over Arizona...Allowed two hits, struck out 14 and did not walk a batter in that time.
Amed Rosario: Turned in his first career multi-homer game with his first two home runs of the season this afternoon...Hit a game-tying solo home run in the sixth inning off Clay Buchholz...Was his first home run since August 27, 2017 at Washington (off Joe Blanton), a span of 203 at-bats...His second home run today came in the seventh inning off Jorge De La Rosa, also a solo homer...Three of his six career homers have given the Mets the lead or tied the game (two go-ahead, one game-tying).
Youngster Multi-Homer Games: Rosario becomes the youngest Met (22 years, 181 days) to hit at least two home runs in a game since Lastings Milledge (22 years, 177 days) on September 29, 2007 vs. Florida at Shea Stadium.
Multi-Homer Game When Batting Ninth: Rosario becomes the fourth Met to turn in a multi-homer game from the ninth spot in the batting order in team history...The others are Curtis Granderson (August 30, 2016 vs. Miami), Noah Syndergaard (May 11, 2016 at Los Angeles-NL) and Walt Terrell (August 6, 1983 at Chicago-NL).
Asdrúbal Cabrera: Slugged his third career pinch-hit home run with his go-ahead, pinch-hit two-run homer in the seventh inning...Was his seventh homer of the season overall...Cabrera’s last pinch-hit homer prior to today was September 17, 2017 at Atlanta (off José Ramirez)...Over his last 27 games dating to April 16, Cabrera is batting .324 (34-105) with nine doubles, one triple, four home runs, 21 RBI and 13 runs scored...Did not hit his seventh homer of the season last year until June 28 (his 54th game).
Noah Syndergaard: Tossed 7.0 innings and allowed one run, earned, on six hits with seven strikeouts and earned his fourth win of the season...Was the second time this season he’s completed 7.0 innings and the first time since April 26 at St. Louis (7.1 innings)...Has not allowed more than three runs in each of his last nine starts...Has completed 5.0 or more innings and has allowed no more than three runs in eight-straight starts, tied for the longest active streak of that type in the NL with Gio Gonzalez.
Syn-Citi: Owns a 2.68 career ERA (72 earned runs/241.1 innings) in 40 games (39 starts) at Citi Field...Has yielded three runs or fewer in 26 of his last 29 home starts.
Robert Gsellman: Pitched the final 2.0 innings, did not allow a hit and struck out three while earning his first professional save...Gsellman's only other save in his career (majors or minors) prior to today was in 2011 came in his first professional appearance on July 18, 2011 for the GCL Mets vs. the GCL Marlins.
Arizona: Has lost 10 of its last 11 games dating to May 9 and was swept for the second time this season.
Jarrod Dyson: Tied his career-high with three hits today (19th time) and was .400 (4-10) with one walk and two stolen bases in the three-game series...Is now 5-5 in his career vs. Syndergaard.
Clay Buchholz: Made his season debut today and his first MLB start since April 11, 2017 with Philadelphia, also vs. the Mets...Tossed 5.0+ innings and allowed one run, earned, on two hits with two strikeouts and one walk in a no-decision.
