Metscellaneous: New York has lost two straight and finished the homestand 5-3...The club is 2-4 in rubber games and 12-13 at home...The Mets fell to 4-2 vs. Miami this year.

Leading/Trailing After Eight: The Mets fell to 17-2 when leading after eight innings this year...New York also lost on April 21 4-3 at Atlanta after leading 3-2 heading to the ninth...Miami won its first game this season when trailing after eight innings (1-24). 

Strikeouts: Mets pitching struck out 10 batters tonight...It was the club's eighth straight game with nine or more strikeouts, tied for the longest streak in franchise history (also July 24-31, 2016).

Jacob deGrom: Spun 7.0 shutout innings, allowed four hits and struck out eight...Has allowed one run in his last 33.1 innings (0.27 ERA) in his last six starts and lowered his season ERA to 1.54...In that six-start span, deGrom has struck out 47, walked 10 and allowed 21 hits.
