Metscellaneous: The Mets have lost nine of their last 11 games, including four straight...New York has lost six straight home games and is 12-17 at Citi Field this season...It's the second time this season the Mets have dropped six consecutive games at home (also May 1-6). 

Sweep Notes: New York was swept by the Cubs in a four-game series for the first time since May 11-14, 2015 at Wrigley Field...It was the first time the Mets were swept in a four-game series by the Cubs in New York since August 2-5, 1991.

Shutouts: New York was shut out for the fourth time this season and the fourth time at home...Chicago recorded its eighth shutout of the season (fifth on the road)...The Cubs' eight shutouts this season are tied for most in the majors with Pittsburgh. 

Mets Offense: Has scored one run in its last 24.0 innings dating to the ninth inning of Friday night’s game...New York has scored two or fewer runs 21 times this season, tied for sixth-most in the majors.

Mets Starting Pitchers: Over its last 16 games, New York starters have a 2.48 ERA (24 earned runs/87.0 innings).

Steven Matz: Worked 7.0 innings and allowed two runs, earned, on five hits and suffered his fourth loss of the season...Struck out seven and walked two...Was his first outing of 7.0 innings since also going 7.0 innings on July 3, 2017 at Washington...Had his scoreless innings streak snapped at 15.0 innings after allowing two runs in the seventh inning (streak dated to his May 24 start at Milwaukee)...In three day-game starts this season, Matz has a 2.81 ERA (five earned runs/17.0 innings).
