Hey @mets, there was a challenge sent to Jeff Wilpon on eBay.

Hey guys, this game across last night to me.  This was posted on eBay last night.
Every New York sports fan remembers the first sporting event held in New York after the tragic events of 9/11. The NY Mets played their arch rivals, the Atlanta Braves. The Mets went on to win that game with late inning heroics by Mike Piazza who hit a two run home run in the 8th inning to give the Mets the lead and eventually the win.
What you might not know is that the jersey that Mike Piazza wore from that historic game sold in April 2016 for $365,000. The Mets and Their ownership were criticized for selling the jersey instead of keeping the jersey and putting it in the Mets Hall of Fame and Museum that is located in Citi Field for future generations of Met fans to enjoy.
With the backlash from fans on sports radio stations, Mets management issued this statement, “We admit that we made a mistake, and have instituted a new process with internal controls to prevent something like this from happening again in the future”. A mistake? It is more like twenty more mistakes! When I purchased the Piazza 9/11 jersey years ago I also purchased twenty other 9/11 style jersey’s directly from the Mets along with many other items that the Mets were selling. After the sale of the Piazza jersey and my relationship with the Mets started to sour, I approached them with a deal to buy back the twenty jersey’s from me. And they refused. Maybe because the Mets were in a pennant race and they didn’t have time to think about it, but now as we head towards the All Star break and the Mets season is pretty much over, now they can think about my next deal.
I challenge the Mets to buy back the same twenty 9/11 jersey’s that they sold me for $50,000. I don’t want one cent of the money. The Mets would have to make two checks, both for $25,000 each. The first would be made to the Shannon Forde Foundation. Shannon was a long time employee of the Mets and past away two years ago from cancer. Shannon has two young children that could use the money for their education. The second check would be made out to Ed Kranepool. Kranepool was a long time Met that gave his heart and soul to the team for 18 long seasons. He is an original Met and also played on that miracle team in 1969 that won the World Series. Ed is in need of a kidney transplant and this money will help with his hospital bills.
I see this deal as a win, win, win situation. That’s almost as many wins the Mets got in June! The Mets win by getting the 9/11 jersey’s out of the public’s hands and two of their former employees will receive money that they definitely need. The only thing that could stop the Mets from making this deal would be if they are questioning the authenticity of the jersey’s. But I purchased them directly from the Mets, so they have to be authentic, right?

I Challenge the Mets Management to Buy these Jersey's Back!!! I will not except less than $50,000 from the Mets.

Well, I see a gauntlet has been thrown..... Your move Mets. You can see the listing from eBay here.
