Mets Tim Tebow to have surgery


I can picture the Mets front office spewing right now... “God dammit! There goes our revenue for September.”

Tim Tebow suffered a broken hamate bone in his right hand while swinging a bat last Thursday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Tebow will have surgery Tuesday and likely will miss the rest of the season.

Tebow, 30, was removed in the seventh inning of the Rumble Ponies’ win over the Trenton Thunder after injuring his hand on a swing. He was placed on the disabled list and visited a hand specialist in New York City on Monday.
