DAVID WRIGHT: Went 1-4 with an RBI single last night for St. Lucie (A) vs. Tampa...He played 7.0 innings at third...He is expected to play tonight for St. Lucie vs. Tampa...Wright is 3-21 (.143) with one RBI and two walks in seven minor league rehabilitation games.
JAY BRUCE: Was 3-4 with a double, two singles and a run scored last night for St. Lucie (A) vs. Tampa...He played 9.0 innings in rightfield...Bruce is expected to play tonight for St. Lucie (A) vs. Tampa...He is 7-22 (.318) with one double and one walk in six minor league rehabilitation games.
JEFF McNEIL: Tied his career-high with four hits last night...Also had four hits on August 4 at Atlanta...McNeil is the first player in team history to have two four-hit games within his first 27 career games...McNeil has 29 hits in those 27 games, the 10th-most by a player who began his major league career with the Mets... McNeil has a career-best six-game hitting streak (.522, 12-23) and has collected at least one hit in his last eight starts, going 15-37 (.405) with eight runs scored and five RBI...McNeil has multi-hits in four straight starts...He is batting .342 (25-73) this month, tied for eighth in the NL (min. 75 PA) and has a .368 OBP in August.
MICHAEL CONFORTO: Tied his career-high with four RBI last night, sixth time, last, August 16 at Philadelphia (G2)...Is hitting .288 (34-118) with seven doubles, seven homers, 21 RBI, 23 runs scored, a .363 OBP and a .525 slugging percentage since the All-Star break...He is tied for fourth in the NL in RBI (21) since the All-Star break and ninth with seven homers after the break...He has four homers in his last 11 games.
WILMER FLORES: Has eight straight multi-hit games vs. the Giants and is hitting .361 (30-83) vs. San Francisco, his best against any one opponent (min. five games).
HONORING RUSTY STAUB: Mets Hall of Famer Rusty Staub passed away on March 29 at age 73... The Mets will wear a patch on the right sleeve on their home and away uniforms during the 2018 season honoring Staub...A six-time All-Star, he had 2,716 hits and 292 homers during his 23-year career.

SYN-CITI: Noah Syndergaard is 4-0 with a 3.09 ERA (eight earned runs/23.1 innings) in his last four home starts...Syndergaard is 5-1 with a 3.38 ERA in nine home starts this season and is 19-10 with a 2.74 ERA in 42 career games at Citi Field.
deGROMINATE: Jacob deGrom leads the majors in ERA (1.71)... According to FanGraphs, he leads the majors in WAR (6.6), leads the NL with 0.43 HR/9 and FIP (2.08)...DeGrom is second in the NL and sixth in the majors with 204 strikeouts...He has held opponents to three runs or less in 22 straight starts, tied for the fifth-longest single-season streak in the majors since 1950.
FROM THE PEN: New York's bullpen has allowed four earned runs in its last 25.0 innings (1.44 ERA)...The pen has posted a 2.65 ERA (20 earned runs/68.0 innings) in August, the third- lowest mark in the majors this month...LHP Jerry Blevins has hurled 9.2 scoreless frames to July 26...RHP Robert Gsellman has tossed 9.2 scoreless innings dating to August 2...RHP Drew Smith has tossed 8.0 scoreless innings dating to July 31.
WELCOME: Over 400 Midshipmen from the United States Merchant Marine Academy will be in attendance tonight... Celebrating its 75th anniversary this September, the United States Merchant Marine Academy is one of the country’s five federal service academies.
FANTASY FOOTBALL: Earlier today, Steven Matz, Jacob deGrom, Jerry Blevins, Devin Mesoraco and Drew Smith drafted fantasy football teams among fans that purchased teams with all the proceeds benefiting the Mets Foundation and TRU32 - Matz's charity that honors first responders and military.
BOXING & BASEBALL: Boxer Andre Ward, who retired with a 32-0 record, will attend batting practice tonight...Ward held multiple world titles in two weight classes, including the unified WBA (Super), WBC, and lineal super middleweight titles between 2009 and 2015; and the unified WBA (Undisputed), IBF, WBO, light heavyweight titles between 2016 and 2017.
SOFTBALL WORLD CHAMP: Ken Eriksen, the Head Coach of the US Women's National Softball team, which earlier this month won the World Championship beating Japan to qualify for the 2020 Toyko Olympics, will attend tonight's game...Eriksen graduated from Ward Melville (NY) High School, the same school as Steven Matz and was the softball coach at South Florida when Mets pitching coach Dave Eiland was pitching for the baseball team.

LAST TIME OUT: Syndergaard today makes his 18th start of the season...In his last start, August 17 at Philadelphia, tossed 5.2 innings and allowed a season-high- tying four runs, earned, on eight hits while striking out five and walking two...Took the loss, his third of the season, in the Mets' 4-2 setback at Citizens Bank Park... Was his first loss in four starts at the Phillies' ballpark...Has now allowed four runs in two of his last three starts following a 13-start streak of allowing three runs or fewer.
VS. SAN FRANCISCO: Tonight's start is Syndergaard's first regular-season appearance vs. the Giants since August 21, 2016, when he pitched an 8.0-inning gem, limiting San Francisco to two hits in the Mets' 2-0 victory...Later that season, Syndergaard again faced the Giants in the National League Wild Card Game, recording another scoreless performance (7.0 innings, 10 strikeouts) but did not factor into the decision in the Mets' 3-0, season-ending defeat...Including that postseason start, has thrown 15.0-consecutive scoreless innings against the Giants.
SYN-CITI: Syndergaard tonight makes his 10th home start of the season...Has won each of his last four home starts and is 5-1 with a 3.38 ERA (19 earned runs/50.2 innings) overall in nine starts at Citi Field this season with 59 punchouts and 14 walks...The Mets are 7-2 in those nine starts...Has yielded three or fewer earned runs in 27 of his last 31 home starts...Owns a 2.74 ERA (77 earned runs/253.0 innings) in 42 games (41 starts) at Citi Field, the second-lowest ERA among all pitchers with at least 120.0 innings pitched at the ballpark, trailing only staffmate Jacob deGrom and his 2.18 ERA at home.

CONTACT: According to Fangraphs, Syndergaard induces soft contact 26.1 percent of the time, the highest rate in the NL and second-highest in the majors, trailing only Chris Sale's 28.7 percent clip (min. 100.0 innings)...Only 21.0 percent of balls in play against Syndergaard are of the hard-hit variety, the lowest percentage in the majors by over three percentage points (min. 100.0 innings).
FAST AS LIGHTNING: According to PitchF/X average pitch velocity data, Syndergaard throws MLB's fastest four-seam fastball (98.1 mph), changeup (90.8 mph) and slider (92.5 mph) among all pitchers who have thrown at least 100.0 innings this season...His curveball (average velocity 83.5 mph) is the third-hardest in that group of 106 pitchers, trailing only Lance McCullers Jr. (86.3 mph) and Matt Harvey (83.6 mph).
VS. NL WEST: Has not allowed more than three earned runs in any of his last nine starts against the division, including eight starts allowing two earned runs or fewer...Owns a 2.33 ERA (14 earned runs/54.0 innings) during that stretch.
REACHED A MILESTONE: On July 20 at the Yankees, Syndergaard fanned his 500th career batter...Became the fastest Mets pitcher to 500 strikeouts (by innings pitched) by reaching the mark in 437.1 innings...Passed Dwight Gooden, who fanned his first 500 batters in 445.1 innings...He is one of six Mets pitchers to have reached the mark before their 26th birthday (Syndergaard turns 26 on August 29), the others are: Dwight Gooden (1,391 strikeouts before turning 26), Tom Seaver (866), Sid Fernandez (765) Jon Matlack (747) and Gary Gentry (563).
