METS ROSTER MOVES

Who saw this coming folks? I got thumb fatigue now.

FLUSHING, N.Y., August 3, 2018 – The New York Mets today announced they have placed lefthanded pitcher Steven Matz on the 10-Day Disabled List (retroactive to August 1) with a flexor pronator strain in his left arm and recalled righthanded pitcher Corey Oswalt from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League. Oswalt will wear #55 and is scheduled to start Sunday afternoon vs. Atlanta.

Oswalt, 24, has appeared in six games for the Mets this season and is 1-2 with a 5.27 ERA (16 earned runs/27.1 innings) in those six games (five starts). Over his last four starts at the major league level, Oswalt is 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA (eight earned runs/20.0 innings). He’s allowed two or fewer runs in each three of those four outings. Overall, this is Oswalt’s fourth stint with the Mets this season (also May 8-15, June 29-July 20 and July 23-27).

In 11 starts with Las Vegas this season, Oswalt is 4-4 with a 6.02 ERA (35 earned runs/52.1 innings) with 52 strikeouts.

In 97 career minor league games (91 starts), Oswalt is 41-22 with a 3.64 ERA (202 earned runs/500.0 innings) and 431 strikeouts.
