Syracuse Mets Stadium does indeed need updating.
You will see upgrades to the clubhouse. We're going to replace the seats in the lower and upper bowls. Improve the entryway. Upgrade the lighting and audio systems, and reconfigure the concourse and the concession stands.”From WAER.org. Read more here.
Can I tell you something? The stadium definitely needs it. While it was a fun time up there you can tell that the concessions, field, and team store need to be updated. The store was tiny. It was smaller than my storage room. The folks working at the park were all friendly so that was a positive. They really do need more entrances into the park. I would have originally complained about a $25 million update from the state and local government to update the ballpark, but I get it now.
1968 Memphis Blues Tee
History: Memphis was the New York Mets’ second-ranked affiliate in 1968. Future Mets star Rod Gaspar led the Texas League with 160 hits. Gaspar was a member of the 1969 “Miracle Mets” and scored the winning run in Game 4 of the World Series.
Can get it here.

Sign of trade Jays/Mets or coincidence?
While up in Syracuse yesterday, I went to the TJ Maxx in Destiny USA Mall and saw these Blue Jays Jerseys. I didn't realize that these jerseys at a discount were a sign of the Jays trading Stroman to the Mets. It's just super weird.
I am a guest on a podcast not named @DHAPSHOW !
The trade deadline is upon us with multiple chatter out there as to what the Mets will do. LIVE at 8pm ET, we at A Metsian Podcast will convene to discuss as many possibilities as we can with the Queens Baseball Convention's Co-founder Keith Blacknick!
Keith, a native of Queens who has worked in the film business for over 21 years, formerly blogging on metspolice.com, can now be found writing on themediagoon.com. Follow him on twitter at @mediagoon and @QBConvention.
We've heard there is no way Noah Syndergaard doesn't get dealt, only to then hear Noah will likely stay put. Zack Wheeler had a solid possible audtion in what could be his last start in a Mets uniform, while we also hear the Mets are gauging interest in their closer, Edwin Diaz. What do we expect to happen, what would we like to happen, and what is the smartest direction the Mets can move with their playoff hopes all but squashed?
That plus much more! So, listen in LIVE at 8pm ET for the latest edition of A Metsian Podcast!

Syracuse Mets
The Syracuse Mets. Day two of my minor league excursion with The 7Line Army is over and what a fun trip it was. Got to hang with friends in a dfferent setting. I don’t know why but I had more fun at Binghamton then I did at Syracuse in the ballpark. I can see why the Mets want to make renovations at the park. It feels “old” and the Team Store was smaller then it should have been. Not enough merchandise and it just was over crowded. The staff though throughout the ballpark were super nice and helpful. The food was pretty good for ballpark fare and the field and seats were pretty good too. I just can’t place why there wasn’t more “fun”. Near the the hotel we stayed at was the Destiny mall. The 5th largest mall in the USA and it was pretty fun with the Apex Entertainment and Dave and Busters. So there is some things to do outside the ballpark. If you are in NY state and just want to hit all the Mets minor league teams or just want to see the triple A team then it could be a lot of fun. I just didn’t have “it”.
Oh a quick one. They did Star Wars Night last night and they did a better jobs then the Proper Mets.

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies Game
Welcome to the Rumble Ponies folks! Binghamton is a cute town. Walked 10 mins from the hotel to the stadium and it was a nice little walk. Walked into a memorabilia shop and get this. I bought Nothing!!!!! The stadium itself had a fun vibe to it and Eddie who is in charge of marketing made the T7LA members feel welcomed. Btw he ran his ass of from the moment we got there til the game ended. One of the T7LA members tossed at a first pitch while one of our youngest members got to “set off” the fireworks at the end of the night.
My buddy Darren(The 7line founder) was in the Radio Booth during the whole third inning. He was talking the7line, Mets, and the Rumble Ponies.
The giveaway cap.
The line for the free buffet.
Darren doing some local news spot.
The experience overall at the ball park was fun. You can tell they did some upgrades to the park and I didn’t know what to expect from a minor league team in upstate NY. Been to PSL and Brooklyn and so far Inlike this stadium the best. Happen to be near here when the Ponies are playing? Stop by!

Mets commit a Fowl Pole.
I'm sitting behind the foul pole but at least I can still see through the "netting" of it... Wait. What? SHIT!!! How the hell am I supposed to see the game with advertising on the damn pole?

Why? This is stupid and does it block the view of folks that could only see through the "Net" of the poles?
Yahoo's Flushing Meadows Baseball Club is dead.
From the NY POST
Read more here. The Post has learned that the Yahoo platform has gone the way of the Mets’ season — down the drain.“We’ve realized that there are opportunities which have the ability to scale faster and give fans what they want quicker,” a Yahoo spokeswoman said in a statement to The Post. “We’ve learned a ton during this exploration and intend to use these insights to inform the future of the fan experience through Yahoo Sports.”The Mets declined comment. For the time being, Yahoo is not doing any deals with other clubs, which was the original plan when the Mets site was announced. Yahoo had plans to be involved in a number of sports.Yahoo was set to pay the Mets $1 million, but sources said that since there was never a launch, no payments were exchanged. From the beginning, there was criticism that Yahoo was paying for coverage. The deal’s structure was less about access for its reporters and more about creating events for subscribers with insider access to people like GM Brodie Van Wagenen. It wanted to start the site during spring training or early in the season, but the finalization of the agreement, which included MLB, took longer than anticipated and the site never went live. Yahoo originally targeted Opening Day to launch.Yahoo had announced the site as the Queens Baseball Club, but had to change to the Flushing Meadows Baseball Club because it could not get the rights to the original moniker.
From some guy named Media Goon who co-owns the Queens Baseball Convention aka QBC
We have both word marks trademarked. We brought this up to Yahoo when we found out about their Queens Baseball Club and about how similar it was to our trademarks and our brand. We have worked hard at elevating our brand of QBC/Queens Baseball Convention over the last six years and were at first bewildered at the announcement. Yahoo, my partner Dan and myself had numerous phone calls to try to work something out. Yahoo decided that they didn’t want to confuse our brands and decided to change their name.

Turn Ahead the Clock Jerseys
From Metspolice
Read more here. The short version is that on July 27, 1999 MLB did a “Turn Ahead The Clock” night where teams wore what they would supposedly be wearing in 2021. Uni Watch has a nice recap here and here to catch you up if all this is new to you. Most teams went with something like an oversized logo and maybe some funky colors. The Yankees declined to do it, saying (seemingly correctly) that they were already wearing what they would wear in 2021.The Mets decided to take it to another level and played as The Mercury Mets against the Pirates. Apparently your boycotts are effective, and maybe even the Sell The Team movement is working – as the Mets lore is that they will be playing on Mercury just two seasons from now. Look what you have done.
Here's what my collection looks like.
Cleveland Indians
Pittsburgh Pirates
Tampa Bay Devil Rays
Mercury Mets
Anaheim Angels Blue
Anaheim Angels Red
Florida Marlins
A's Cap
Twins Giveaway Cap
Boston Red Sox
Minnesota Twins
Milwaukee Brewers
SF Giants
I have the Rockies somewhere too, Just can't find it right now...

How’s that NL Wild Card Chase Going?
If my dog Nash is the Mets then the NL Wild Card is that squirrel up the tree. Nash isn’t going to get that squirrel anytime soon and the Mets aren’t anywhere close to getting the second wild card. Hopefully the Mets can make some solid trades at the deadline but I don’t even have faith in that right now. I worked six days last week and I am back at work this morning. 110 hours in 6 days and I am shot. I’m hoping to rally today at work to post some more but sheesh, I am shot. Kind of like how the Mets season is shot.

Harvey DFA'd by the Angels
From the NY POST
Read more here.SEATTLE — The Los Angeles Angels gave up on their $11 million investment in Matt Harvey, designating the 30-year-old right-hander for assignment on Friday.Harvey was 3-5 with a 7.09 ERA in 12 starts. He gave up six runs, seven hits and five walks over six innings in a 6-2 loss to the Houston Astros on Thursday night.“The decision was made because we felt like it would increase our chance of winning games,” Angels manager Brad Ausmus said after discussing the move with general manager Billy Eppler. “Matt was a very well-liked teammate, a guy that everyone pulled for, including myself. But we’re in the business of winning baseball games. In talking to Billy, we just felt like this was the best move to make in order to help us win games.”
This seems like Career Karma to me. Matt always thought he was bigger than the team he played for and then the injuries and weird diagnosis happened. I wonder if he realizes now that his best bet is to try to convert to a reliever so the way he can extend his career.
My response to @metspolice about @the7line cap release on Monday
I guess my cousin over @Metspolice is talking about The7Line Merch drop on Monday.
Here’s Sean @mediagoon Spicer to tell us those caps dropping Monday look good. pic.twitter.com/6QkemV5kYb— metspolice.com (@metspolice) July 20, 2019
Let me see what hats I might get.
I like this one a lot. I have no idea why, but I am definitely digging it.
My wife wants this one. I don't think I can pull off this flower look.
I really like this one. One of my childhood memories was watching reruns of The Odd Couple with my uncles and Oscar Madison was always rocking this kind of cap.
I like this one too in a throwback look kind way.
The other ones are okay but not my style. Not every design is going to hit HR with every single person. That is why there is a variety of caps released. Here you go Shannon. My official press release. for the new The7line caps releases. You can buy your caps at the7line.com

About Futura
A pioneer when graffiti met the formal gallery ecosystem in the 1980s, artist Futura 2000 (born Leonard Hilton McGurr) was known as early as the late 1970s for his radical approach in the street, introducing abstraction to an entirely letter-based discipline. His work caught attention in the 1980's, and he found himself as part of a wider art movement that included the likes of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, and Dondi White. Entirely self-taught in what he calls "the subway school", Futura 2000 has been compared to Kandinsky for his mastery of color, concentric forms, and kinetic composition-and friends Basquiat, Kenny Scharf, and Rammellzee for his progressiveness and of-the-moment dynamism.
Radical then, his methodology can now be viewed over a span of decades as something consummately pure. When compared to the many street artists who have come along since its seminal moment in 1980s New York, Futura's work still stands apart for its subtlety, use of white space, and elemental quality. Insight and proficiency have kept him relevant for 40+ years with no signs of slowing down. He has also had quite the career as a commercial artist; in 2019 alone, Futura has collaborated with Louis Vuitton, Supreme, Nike, and Off-White.
