You guys were telling me that I was crazy when I said that there should be nets all around the field. Don't do it halfway. I really think netting should be protecting everyone in the bottom level of a ballpark. Some parents don't pay attention to what their kids are up to during games. You also have folks turning their backs during the game to take selfies and group photos. This is also a reason I have pushed for years about the baseball etiquette and safety of not letting folks come down to their seats during at bats. I am not being facetious here and I hope this kid is okay.
During batting practice at New York Mets Spring Training in Port St. Lucie, a Mets fan was hit in the face by a home run, which prompted the staff nearby to call for immediate medical attention. Per those on the scene, shortstop Amed Rosario came up near the fence to quickly check on the fan, while second baseman Robinson Cano was asked by another fan to sign the ball and present it to the afflicted fan, which the All-Star second baseman graciously did.Read more here.
