There is something with this whole process of signing Lindor that feels like it was a dog and pony show. I can't put my finger on it. That being said, I am glad the Mets were able to get this done and this will make Opening Day at Citi Field a lot more pleasant for the fans and the players. It is a new era in Flushing for sure.

The Mets have agreed to a contract extension with Francisco Lindor.

This tweet makes me feel a certain way. Maybe I have been a wrestling fan way to long but does anyone else feel like that they have been worked?
You’re welcome.

Can confirm the deferral structure @Joelsherman1 reported. Lindor will get a $21M signing bonus and a $32M annual salary, with $5M of that salary deferred until 2032-2041.

For a FL resident like Lindor, the bonus and deferrals won't be subject to income tax.
