Mets Bobby Bonilla announcement is not what you think it is.

 

I don't this was the announcement Mets fans were thinking was coming from the Mets about Bobby Bonilla. I do have to say I like the way the Mets leaned into the whole Bobby Bonilla pay day today.

I’m very happily retired, but once a Met, always a Met. So, I’m winding up and pitching in to help four lucky guests make Citi Field home for a night. And since we only go big in the Big Apple, we’re treating these fans to the ultimate doubleheader: VIP seats to not one, but two home games.

Booking opens at 12pm EST on July 8 for a stay on July 28.

The space

We’re rolling out the orange and blue carpet for you for an overnight at Citi Field like never before!

You’ll get to sleep in your own suite overlooking the Jackie Robinson Rotunda, with views of the original Homerun Apple and Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. It’s one of the best spots in the house, not only because it overlooks all of the Game Day action, but also because it’s chock full of memorabilia that will get any fan jumpin' in their seats. It’s the perfect private dugout to settle in and get ready to root for the home team during our two back-to-back games against the Atlanta Braves.

You didn’t think that was it, did you? You’re a VIP, man!

--If you’re looking to add some MPH to the ole’ fastball, stroll down to the Mets gym for a workout and a shower before hitting the hay in the suite. 
--That practice may be needed, because you’ll also step right up to the mound and throw the ceremonial first pitch before our night game on July 28.
--You and your guests are probably such diehards that your friends actually call you Mr. or Mrs. Met -- but during your stay, you’ll get to hang with these icons, in the flesh (or cowhide?)
--Leave some space in your suitcase to take home some serious swag, including a customized Mets jersey and used baseball signed by members of the team.
--If you don’t know, now you’ll know: there are some amazing eats here at Citi Field. Meals are on us, ball game snacks included.
