The Mets have acquired catcher Michael Perez from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for cash. The left-handed hitter has six home runs in 39 games with the Pirates this year. Perez has played five seasons in the majors between Tampa Bay (2018-20) and Pittsburgh (2021-22). He has 15 home runs, 21 doubles and collected 58 RBI over the course of 193 career games.
INF Travis Blankenhorn has been designated for assignment.
