LORRAINE HAMILTON ELECTED TO
NEW YORK STATE BASEBALL HALL OF FAME
FLUSHING, N.Y., July 15, 2022 – Lorraine Hamilton, Executive Director, Broadcasting & Special Events for the New York Mets, has been selected for induction into the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame. The Induction Dinner will be held on Sunday, November 13 at the Hilton Hotel in Troy, NY.
“Lorraine has had a long and successful career with the New York Mets organization,” said Rene M. LeRoux, Executive Director of the NYS Baseball Hall of Fame.
Hamilton joins Jane Forbes Clark, umpire Perry Barber, former player Mickey Watts Stapleton and Mets executive Shannon Forde as the fifth woman to enter the Hall.
“Lorraine is the second woman team executive to be inducted, and rightfully so. Her commitment to baseball and her love of the game is very much who she is,” said LeRoux. “We have been making a strong effort to acknowledge women in baseball, and Lorraine is well liked and admired by everyone.”
NYS Baseball HOF Inductee/ NY Mets Vice President, Alumni Relations & Team Historian Jay Horwitz had this to offer:
“I have had the honor and privilege to work alongside of Lorraine for most of my career. She is a true professional in every sense of the word. Her dedication to the Mets is unequaled. She has quarterbacked all of the premier events at Shea/Citi Field for years. Her selection to the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame is well deserved.”

Joining Hamilton in the Class of 2022 are Brian Kenny (MLB Network) former NY Met David Cone, Luis Tiant, Bucky Dent, Ron Blomberg, Tony Morante, Gary Perone, scout Billy Blitzer, Ed Blankmeyer and Tri-City Valley Cats owner Rick Murphy.
The Reception begins at 4 p.m. followed by the dinner at 4:45 p.m.
