Who will be the QBC Trivia Champ?
You guys all know how I’m a big wrestling fan and I just thought this is something cool to “win” if you beat Sal Licata at Stump Sal at QBC 2022. No you can’t take the belt home after you win but you can walk around QBC 2022 with it and have the bragging rights of beating Sal for it.

This is cool. Now imagine if the Mets made it further into the playoffs!
Brandon Nimmo Should Be Signed
Brandon Nimmo. Free agent. Home Grown. Hard working player. One of the best outfielders the Mets have. Always grinding. Always a good guy. Been a guest at the QBC. Fans wanted to vilify him over who he donated to politically. Fans wanted him off the team. Fans forgot about it because he played well. Fans see Mets get Sterling Marté. Fans say Nimmo has to move to corner spot. Marté goes to corner spot. Nimmo becomes one of the best centerfielders this year. Makes some ridiculous catches in the outfield and has solid numbers at the plate. Fans want him to be resigned by the Mets. Free agency is happening. Rumors about the Rockies looking at Nimmo for $20 mill per year.
Okay that’s a quick synopsis about Free agent Brandon Nimmo. $20 million per year for Nimmo? All I have to say is do it. You have a good guy in the clubhouse. He’s a leader on the field. He busts his ass playing and gives it his all when he is playing. He’s a perfect fit with this team he’s on of those pieces you can build around that’s home grown. The Mets would usually chase a guy like this from another team and overpay for him and then he ends up not being a good fit. Do it. Do it now!!!
Also don’t forget to grab your tickets for QBC 2022: Bringing Sexy Back featuring Bartolo Colón, Howard Johnson, and RA Dickey being on panels and signing. SNY is sending Mets Hot Stove and The Mets Pod. Jay Horwitz is receiving the Gil Hodges Unforgettable Fire Award. The New York Post is sending the Amazin’ but True podcast and we will have more to announce soon.

The Latest Willets Point Project Update
This is the latest I found about the Willets Point Project. It's dated Sept 30th 2022.
THE DESIGN CONCEPT FOR THE FIRST PHASE OF THE WILLETS POINT REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT, rendering VIA EDCThe new designs come several weeks before the EDC is scheduled to present its plan for approval to the city’s Public Design Commission.
The beginnings of the Willets Point redevelopment date back to the Bloomberg administration. Plans to transform the 23-acre, city-controlled plot that sits in the shadow of Citi Field have come and gone – including a proposition to build a shopping mall there, which was struck down in court in 2017.
Most recently, rumors of a bid to build a casino in the area stemming from new Mets owner Steve Cohen have begun to swirl. Officials at EDC, however, say even if a casino were to make it to Willets Point, it would have no effect on the work currently underway and up for review by the PDC on Oct. 11.
The plan for phase one of the redevelopment – six of the total 23-acres of city-owned land – includes 1,100 units of affordable housing, with a number of them designated for seniors. It also includes over 22,000 square feet of retail space, around 5,000 square feet of community facilities, over 30,000 square feet of open space and a new K-8 school with 650 seats, which is being designed by the School Construction Authority in a separate effort. The affordable units will rent from a range of below 30 percent of the area median income to over 100 percent of the area median income. Under the new plan, phase one of the project will be leased for 99 years to the Queens Development Group, a partnership between real estate giants Sterling Equities and The Related Companies.
In addition to the new structures, the development of the area requires the creation of new physical infrastructure.
The developers are tasked with building new streets, sidewalks and utilities, including a sewage system, which the tenants of Willets Point, most of whom are auto shop workers, have long been without.
According to the design plans presented on Wednesday, an existing water main that runs under Willets Point Boulevard toward Flushing Creek will be reconstructed. A brand new sanitary sewer will be installed along Seaver Way and head toward the Flushing Bay – auto shop workers who worked in Willets Point would have to go to nearby businesses to use the bathroom for years.
THE CITY reported in April that Cohen had met with Mayor Eric Adams earlier in the year to propose one of New York’s two new casinos be built either in the Citi Field parking lot – which is owned by the city and that would likely be subject to a successful legal challenge – or in the non-city owned portion of Willets Point, which Cohen would have to buy.
I wonder when the whole parcel of land will be developed. I feel like I might be in my 60's when its finished.

Looks like Replica Mets Jersey's are on sale.
You're the type of New York Mets fan who counts down the minutes until the first pitch. When your squad finally hits the field, show your support all game long with this Jacob deGrom Replica Player jersey from Nike. Its classic full-button design features crisp player and New York Mets applique graphics, leaving no doubt you'll be along for the ride for all 162 games and beyond this season. You can get this at lids.com if you want. I was wondering if these are just on sale just because? Is it because its a deGrom Jersey and he might not be back, is it because the black jerseys didn't sell as well as they thought they would? It looks like just a general sale and the other jerseys are on sale too. for under a $100. You might want to grab them now if you don't like spending over a $100 for a jersey. |

1986 World Champion Ed Hearn needs a Kidney
Ed Hearn needs a kidney. We Mets Fans helped Ed Kranepool find a match. Hopefully we can do that for Ed too.
From ABC News
However, when the team celebrated the players from yesteryear during the return of the Mets' Old Timers' Day this summer, Hearn was a notable absence - this due to serious health issues."The main thing right now is I am losing my kidney," he says.
The 62-year-old former World Series champ has spent the last several decades as a motivational speaker and helping others - is now turning to others for help.
Hearn is in dire need of a kidney and is hoping Mets fans can step up to the plate.
"I desperately need to get a living donor transplant so I can get back in the game of life," says Hearn, "I'm in stage 5 - the end stage. There are five stages, I'm at the end. I'm feeling the effects and just need to get a donor."

Looks like the Padres aren't a fluke. Ans the Phillies?
Take solace Mets fans. Not only did the Padres knock the Mets out of the playoffs, they knocked out the team that folks were saying could be the World Series Champions. Personally, I am shocked myself that they were able to knock them out.
And by the way, where the hell did the Phillies come from to make it to the NLCS? Padres vs Phillies? Sounds like a snore fest to me. I don't think anyone saw the Braves getting knocked out also. Geez. What a wacky post season.
With this crazy post season who would of thought the Mets, Braves, and Dodgers all getting knocked out in the east.
I can't wait for the State of the Mets panel hosted by Mark Healey and to see what he and his panelists think about this season and next season at the Queens Baseball Convention on Dec 3. You can buy your tickets here.
