Mets: Roof or Casino?

There was a lot of talk this weekend about a retractable roof being built over Citi Field again. A lot of you may or may not remember the original conceptual models of both the Yankees and Mets New Stadiums back in the Guliani era. I could be wrong but from what I remember 9/11 happened. Taxpayer  money that was allocated to go to help building the stadiums got slashed because it was used to help during the recovery and rebuilding. When the new proposed amount of money was on the table the roofs from both stadiums were cut. I don’t know why they Yankees didn’t put one up but we know why the Wilpons owned Mets didn’t. The Wilpons.

What I’m trying to figure out now is if they are bandying about with the talks about a roof, what is the expectations of the casino and green space that they want to build on the “asphalt” of the parking areas around Citi Field? If the casino gets okayed does that make it a definite no to the retractable roof? How tall is the casino going to be? The roof is going to have to roll out over a parking lot, right? Will the roof open like a camera lens iris? So many questions here to me.
