The Amazin’ Mets Foundation contributed over $445,000 to fully fund the project in support of kids in the community.
FLUSHING, N.Y., June 28, 2023 – The Amazin’ Mets Foundation, along with New York City Department of Parks & Recreation and The LandTek Group, participated in the ribbon cutting at the renovated Baseball Field #10 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park yesterday. The ribbon cutting officially completed the construction, which began on May 1.
This exciting private-public partnership provides youth in the community with a high-quality baseball field to enjoy and compliments the Amazin’ Mets Foundation’s youth baseball initiatives, including Sandlot Stars and baseball and softball clinics.
“The Amazin’ Mets Foundation is committed to supporting our neighbors in Queens and expanding access to the sport of baseball,” said Alex Cohen, President of the Amazin’ Mets Foundation. “We are proud to sponsor the renovation of Baseball Field #10 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park and are excited to open the new field for everyone in the community to enjoy.”
The upgrades to Field #10 include a full infield renovation, a new irrigation system, an added drainage system, and new fencing and concrete. The renovations have also ensured Baseball Field #10 is ADA compliant.
Since its inception in 2021, the Amazin’ Mets Foundation has funded over $5 million in grants to over 100 organizations in the community, including the communities surrounding affiliate teams.
