NEW YORK METS TO HOST BLOOD DRIVE
JUNE 20 AT CITI FIELD
WHAT: The New York Mets, in partnership with New York Blood Center (NYBC), will host their annual Summer Blood Drive on Tuesday, June 20 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. in the Piazza Club at CitiField. Hospitals and patients rely upon a steady flow of volunteer donors to receive life-saving donations, but blood donations still have not returned to pre-pandemic levels. Fans donating blood will receive a voucher redeemable for two tickets to a select Mets home game in 2023 with exclusions and based on availability.
The unprecedented health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic caused a loss of more than 20,000 high school blood donations each year, as schools transitioned to remote learning and safety restrictions limited in-person gatherings. This year, NYBC expects to reach the 15,000 Mets donor mark, a landmark in their work to provide donations to those who need it.
Donors must be 16 years of age (with parental consent), weigh at least 110 lbs. and be in good health. As always, people are not eligible to donate if they’re experiencing a cold, sore throat, respiratory infection or flu-like symptoms. Additional information on donor eligibility and COVID-19 precautions is available here.
WHEN: Tuesday, June 20
10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
WHO: Mr. and Mrs. Met will be in attendance from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
WHERE: Piazza Club at Citi Field
Fans and media may park in Lot G off Seaver Way and enter through the Hodges VIP entrance.
