NEW YORK METS TO CELEBRATE PRIDE NIGHT AT CITI FIELD
The Mets Eighth Annual Pride Night presented by Citi to Take Place on June 28
FLUSHING, N.Y., June 20, 2024 – The New York Mets will host their eighth annual Pride Night presented by Citi on Friday, June 28 when they take on the Houston Astros at 7:10 p.m. at Citi Field. Gates will open to all fans at 5:40 p.m. The first 15,000 fans in attendance will receive an exclusive Mets Pride hat, presented by Citi.
Pride Night at Citi Field is a celebration of the many LGBTQ+ New Yorkers and Mets fans from around the world, as well as allies of the community. All pre-, post, and in-game programming will be focused on celebrating Pride.
The Mets will host a pre-game Pride Party at the K Korner beginning at 5:00 p.m. featuring a DJ, Mr. and Mrs. Met, and performances by The Queens Crew. A rainbow installation will be featured at the top of the Jackie Robinson Rotunda to welcome fans as they enter the gates. Additionally, the Coca-Cola sign above right field will be illuminated in the colors of the Pride Rainbow flag all night long.
Murray Hill, a New York City comedian from HBO's acclaimed series Somebody Somewhere, will throw out an honorary first pitch. The National Anthem will be performed by country musician Orville Peck, who is currently in the middle of his nationwide Stampede Tour.
Throughout June, House of Love Cocktails, featured on RuPaul’s Drag Race, will be available at the ballpark. Additionally, there will be Mets Pride merchandise sold in the Team Store.
Friday night is also Fireworks Night present by Toyota and DJ Night presented by New Balance at Citi Field. Kevin Aviance will be that night’s guest DJ. Aviance, is a musician, drag icon, and nightlife personality based in New York City, who was recently featured on Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ album.
For the first time, the Mets are excited to partner with NYC Pride on a special ticket offer. NYC Pride tickets include a limited-edition Pride Night item and $12 of stored value to be used at concession stands. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from each ticket will be donated directly to NYC Pride initiatives. NYC Pride will also be the recipient of the POS system round up from Aramark.
