Mets Job Opening

 

Summary

The head of member experience will be responsible for curating experiences and hospitality for a members of a new high-end club that provides unique access to the Mets and related experiences. These will range from gameday experiences at Citi Field (e.g. behind-the-scenes access, seamless ballpark entry and exit) to travel (e.g. private jet travel to an away game with side trips to local attractions) to non-baseball programming (e.g. special access to other sporting or cultural events). This person will build relationships with club members, develop a deep understanding of their preferences, and tailor experiences to surprise and delight them. This person will also advise on the development of new premium club spaces at Citi Field.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Create an annual calendar of unique, money-can't-buy experiences that appeal to members of a new Mets club
• Deliver those experiences by collaborating across the Mets organization, including with Baseball Operations, Ballpark Operations, Food & Beverage, Ticketing, and others
• Develop partnerships with other sports teams, venues, restaurants, private clubs, transportation providers, and others to deliver additional value to members
• Build relationships with current and prospective club members and ensure they have a seamless experience whenever they interact with the Mets
• Ensure members renew
• Support the long-term Mets ultra-premium hospitality strategy, including the development of new spaces and food and beverage partnerships

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience creating and delivering premium experiences and/or luxury hospitality in an industry such as hotels, membership clubs, restaurants, travel, sports or similar (Sports experience is not required).
• Extremely high emotional intelligence and attention to detail
• Experience working across functions and influencing/leading without authority
• Highly creative
• Ability to take creative concepts and turn them into successful experiences
• Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels of an organization, from senior leadership to frontline employees
• Experience launching new premium hospitality experiences is preferred
• Unparalleled ability to present to and communicate with high-end clientele

This role is based at Citi Field in Queens, NY, where we work four days/week in the office. This role will also likely involve significant evening and weekend work during the Mets season.

Dave of Dave's Mets Dugout on Facebook sent this over to me. Since I am no longer a season plan holder I didn't get this. But I am going to pull back one of the curtains about QBC 2023. In 2023 one of the Mets owner's family members attended it and told Dan and myself that he didn't understand why the Mets didn't work with us and the QBC was something that his family members would love to be a part of.Our info was taken and we were told they would get in contact with us before the next QBC. Guess what? No one ever got in contact with us and then in September I think Amazin' Day was announced. I was told that this was going to be similar to the FAN FEST the Mets ran in 2020.

Now some folks say we charge too much for entry and autos. We are also really a mom and pop kind of event where we don't have a ton of sponsors and we do this as a passion project for our fellow Mets fans. Are we happy to do this? Yes. Is it a lot of work? Yes. Do we make money on each event? Not really. 

We are glad the Mets realize the fanbase wants a fan fest and we are glad the QBC has been a proof of concept and it's a win win for fans. I hope it's a good event and it is different enough that the QBC and Amazin' Day can live together. Personally am I bummed with all the being told the Mets wanted to talk to us about the QBC? I am. All it has made me and Dan want to do is put on the best QBC yet.

Oh one more thing. We don't know if the Amazin' Day is just for Plan holders or for everyone yet. I guess we'll see if they sell out their presale or not.

QBC 2024 pricing vs other event pricing.

 

This is an interesting kind of event. It’s a Q&A with a free drink with no mention if any folks can get anything signed and it comes to over a $100 dollars to watch Strawberry, Keith, and Doc sign jerseys for Mohegan Sun’s area. I guess it’s cool and all three have been at QBC’s in the past and they have great stories. Doc hasn’t had an “official” appearance yet at QBC but was brought in by Coach’s Collectibles for a signing at his table.

This is the stuff that drive me crazy when folks say the QBC is expensive. We try to keep our pricing as cheap as possible for an all day event. Our GA ticket comes with the opportunity for free Turk Wendell auto. We didn’t  have to give the Turk auto opportunity but we did so to help take the sting out of the GA ticket price a bit.

How do I feel about this Mets Season?(also QBC AD)

 

The 2024 New York Mets. In the beginning of the season this team had no heart. No identity. No Soul. The team was not fun. For me, it was a chore to go to the games. If I didn't sit with the7line Army and my friends there I wouldn't have gone to many games. The Mets cut the dead weight, made some trades and the team started believing in each other. The pitchers that weren't supposed to be any good got real good. The hitters that no one had faith in became hitters. Grimace made himself a Mets icon. There was controversy over Hailey Welch throwing out a first pitch. A current Met came out with the theme song for these Mets that charted on Billboard. They went to London. This team became fun. Going to games became fun and not the chore that it felt like at the beginning of the season. The playoffs weren't something the fans ever expected this year because this season was just supposed to be a competitive team year but not a playoff team year. The Mets were one step away from going to the World Series after all this craziness this season. Where do they go next year with this to build on? Do they get Juan Soto? Will Pete Alonso come back to the Mets if they don't over pay for him? What about the pitchers?

I ended up having a lot of fun this season watching the Mets play after May and. I am really looking forward to next season and this year's QBC.
