The Mets and Coca-Cola will celebrate the local community by introducing four small businesses to be featured in Citi Field’s culinary lineup during the 2025 season

 

FLUSHING, N.Y., March 31, 2025 – The New York Mets and Coca-Cola announced today the selection of four local, small businesses to be a part of the Citi Field’s award-winning line up of menu items in 2025. Arepalicious and Thai Tai Eatery will be featured at the Mets community-focused stand ‘Taste of Queens’ located on the field level in Taste of the City, and Fieldtrip and Dorado Tacos & Quesadillas will be featured at the Coca-Cola Food Truck located in Coke Corner.

 

“We are thrilled to welcome Arepalicious, Dorado Tacos & Quesadillas, Fieldtrip, and Thai Tai Eatery to Citi Field’s award-winning culinary lineup this season,” said James Benesh, Vice President of Ballpark Experience. “Highlighting local small businesses through the Taste of Queens and Coca-Cola Food Truck programs has been an important initiative for the organization and a great way to connect to our local communities. These four incredible businesses have such unique stories and cuisines that will allow us to continue to provide Mets fans with the best ballpark food in Major League Baseball.”

For the past three seasons both the New York Mets and Coca-Cola have been dedicated to spotlighting local vendors and restaurants through both the Taste of Queens and the Coca-Cola Food Truck experience. These unique programs allow both the Mets and Coca-Cola to celebrate businesses in the community, while also showcasing the wide variety of cuisine offered in New York City. This year, they teamed up with Celebrity Chef Adam Richman to provide local restaurants with the opportunity to be featured at Citi Field during the 2025 season.

 

“I’ve been lucky enough to be part of the incredible food program with the Mets at Citi Field, for two years now, but I think it’s incredibly special that the opportunity I have been given isn’t just for TV personalities or celebrity chefs,” said Adam Richman. “I’m excited to meet these incredible food industry professionals, to learn their story, to exchange ideas, inspiration, recipes, and to be there to help them in any way I can, using what I have learned during my years in the hospitality industry.”

 

From Friday, April 4 to Thursday June 26:

 

Arepalicious will be the first Taste of Queens restaurant featured at Citi Field. Arepalicious first started at home as a hobby, before taking their cooking to the streets at food markets in Queens. Their owners were able to secure a building where Arepalicious Restaurant and Bakery has been open since 2018. Arepalicious’ menu at Citi Field will include:

• Cheese Arepas – Topped with shredded chicken, shredded beef or guacamole, cotija cheese and house sauce 

 

Fieldtrip will be the first Coca-Cola Food Truck restaurant featured at Citi Field. At Fieldtrip, their food is influenced by global flavors and techniques used within various cultures. Their rice bowls are paired with ethically sourced vegetables and proteins creating a flavorful experience that tastes good and is good for you. Fieldtrip’s menu at Citi Field will include:

• Jerk Meatball Bowl – Ground turkey, 50 cut mushrooms, jollof rice, plantains, cucumber coconut yogurt
• Braised Beef Bowl – Texas brown rice, chipotle black beans, plantains, scallions, fresno peppers 

 

From Tuesday, July 1 to Sunday, September 21:

 

Thai Tai Eatery will be the second Taste of Queens restaurant featured at Citi Field. Fans can experience the vibrant and bold flavors of Thailand at Thai Tai Eatery. Their menu is inspired by local Thai kitchens and features a variety of favorites with carefully selected ingredients for each dish to ensure maximum flavor. The menu for Thai Tai Eatery at Citi Field will include: 

• Classic Bahn Mi – Slices of traditional Vietnamese ham, roasted Vietnamese sausage served on a baguette with spicy mayo, fresh cucumber, pickled carrots, daikon and cilantro

 

Dorado Tacos & Quesadillas will be the second Coca-Cola Food Truck restaurant featured at Citi Field and features an innovate approach to Mexican street food, Dorado’s Tacos & Quesadillas menu at Citi Field will include:

• Shrimp Quesadilla – Flour tortilla with a three-cheese blend & choice of salsa or sour cream
• Carne Asada Quesadilla – Flour tortilla with a three-cheese blend & choice of salsa or sour cream
• Carne Asada Tacos – Grilled steak, guacamole, pico de gallo
• Shrimp Tacos – Grilled shrimp, cabbage, crema, pico de gallo, pickled onions

 

The Mets, who were named Best Stadium Food in 2023, and Best Baseball Stadium Food in 2024 + 2025 by USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice awards debuted the Taste of Queens stand in 2023 on the Field Level Concourse.

This Marks the Third Consecutive Year Citi Field has Been Recognized for its Outstanding Ballpark Cuisine

 

FLUSHING, N.Y., March 27, 2025 – The New York Mets have been named the winner in the 2025 USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice travel award contest for Best Baseball Stadium Food. Citi Field’s nomination was chosen by a panel of relevant experts, which includes a combination of editors from USA TODAY, editors from 10Best.com, relevant expert contributors, and sources for both these media and other Gannett properties before being voted on by the public online.

 

Citi Field has now been voted Best Stadium Food in 2023 and Best Baseball Stadium Food in 2024 by USA Today Readers’ Choice, making this the third consecutive year the ballpark has been honored for its cuisine.

 

“We are thrilled that for the third year in a row, Citi Field will be honored for its outstanding cuisine options, this time as Best baseball Stadium food in the country,” said Mets Vice President of Ballpark Experience James Benesh.  “We appreciate this award as it was voted on by our fans. It means a lot to the organization for Citi Field to maintain its reputation as one of the top culinary destinations in sports and entertainment. We pride ourselves on creating the best ballpark experience for our fans, and high-quality food options are a key component of the fan experience.” 

 

Citi Field’s All-Star dining lineup is highlighted by ballpark favorites like Pat LaFrieda’s Original Filet Mignon Steak Sandwich, Wok n’ Roll’s Cinnamon Bun Eggroll, and Pig Beach BBQ. The Mets will also partner with multiple celebrity chefs in 2025 including Judy Joo, Adam Richman, JJ Johnson, and Kwame Onwuachi, whose menus will be on display around the ballpark this season.

 

Overseeing the culinary operations at Citi Field is Aramark Senior Executive Chef Jason Eksterowicz, who joined the team in the winter of 2017. Eksterowicz is known for using modern techniques as well as fresh, local, and sustainable ingredients to reinterpret traditional and classic dishes. The culinary team is rounded out by Chef Paul Horowitz, Executive Sous Chef; Julie Elkind, Executive Pastry Chef; Luis Paulino, Chef de Cuisine, Concessions; Thomas Giovanniello, Chef de Cuisine, Catering; Tim Clemente, Chef de Cuisine, Clover Level; John Sisto, Chef de Cuisine, Metro Market; Gustavo Aseng, Chef de Cuisine, Suites; Gil Faccio, Chef de Cuisine, Commissary; Darius Logan, Chef de Cuisine.

NEW YORK METS TO HONOR ED KRANEPOOL WITH UNIFORM PATCH FOR 2025 SEASON

 

Members of the Kranepool family will be honored during Opening Day Ceremonies on Friday, April 4

 

FLUSHING, N.Y., March 26, 2025 – The New York Mets today announced that the team will wear a tribute uniform patch all season long to honor Mets Hall of Famer Ed Kranepool. Kranepool passed away on September 8, 2024, at age 79. The patch will feature Kranepool’s iconic number seven and will be worn on the sleeve of all Mets jerseys (photo attached).

 

Kranepool’s 17 family members will be honored pregame on Opening Day, April 4 vs. the Toronto Blue Jays. The Kranepool family will also be accompanied by close friend and former teammate, Art Shamsky.

 

“Of all the stats and records Ed accomplished throughout his career, the thing he was most proud of was that he spent his entire Major League career in a Mets uniform,” said Art Shamsky. “Ed would be touched that the team will be wearing his number seven on their uniform all year long.”

 

Kranepool played for the Mets from 1962-1979, spending his entire 18-year career with the Mets. He was a member of the 1969 Miracle Mets, a 1965 All-Star and the club’s all-time leader in games played. Kranepool remains in the Mets all-time top 10 in many statistical categories including plate appearances, hits, at-bats, total bases, doubles, RBI, walks and runs scored. He was inducted into the Mets Hall of Fame in 1990.

WHAT:           The New York Mets will hold live art and installations with legendary local artist Cey Adams and Sophia Chang at Mets House NYC on Friday, March 21 at 1 p.m. Cey and Sophia will transform Mets House, inside and out, bringing the Mets ‘IYKNYYK’ campaign to life through bold, dynamic designs across exterior windows and interior displays. These installations will be an immersive fusion of sports and culture, while further cementing the Mets as a true force in NYC.

 

Cey Adams – Lifelong Mets fan and native New Yorker. Legendary artist Cey Adams, known for his bold typography and visual storytelling. His work has been showcased from city streets to major cultural institutions. Cey’s style incorporates vintage materials and other mixed media to create unique original works of art. Digging deep into the Mets archives, the artist will be leveraging his method to make a large-scale artwork on panel of the Mets logo. Cey served as the founding Creative Director at Def Jam Recordings, where he and his team “defined the visual culture of Hip-Hop”. Fans can follow Cey’s work on Instagram @ceyadams.

 

Sophia Chang – Sophia is a Queens-born illustrator and designer whose work fuses sneaker culture, streetwear and sports. In less than a decade, Sophia managed to champion a name for herself in the art, design and streetwear community worldwide. With her BFA from Parsons School of Design coupled with a natural acumen for business, she has collaborated with A-list names across multiple fields. She references passing Shea as a regular part of her childhood and a piece of her inspiration. Sophia will transform the space’s windows to captivate Union Square with the Mets brand in a fresh, innovative way.

 

Mets House NYC – Mets House NYC, located in Union Square, is a new and exciting multipurpose space that gives Mets fans an exclusive opportunity to engage with their favorite team outside of the ballpark. Mets House features themed activities, exclusive merchandise, ongoing surprise experiences, including giveaways and special gifts with purchase, and other interactive elements, creating a vibrant and memorable atmosphere for all who visit.
