CITI FIELD NAMED WINNER OF THE 2025 USA TODAY 10BEST READERS’ CHOICE AWARD FOR BEST BASEBALL STADIUM FOOD
This Marks the Third Consecutive Year Citi Field has Been Recognized for its Outstanding Ballpark Cuisine
FLUSHING, N.Y., March 27, 2025 – The New York Mets have been named the winner in the 2025 USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice travel award contest for Best Baseball Stadium Food. Citi Field’s nomination was chosen by a panel of relevant experts, which includes a combination of editors from USA TODAY, editors from 10Best.com, relevant expert contributors, and sources for both these media and other Gannett properties before being voted on by the public online.
Citi Field has now been voted Best Stadium Food in 2023 and Best Baseball Stadium Food in 2024 by USA Today Readers’ Choice, making this the third consecutive year the ballpark has been honored for its cuisine.
“We are thrilled that for the third year in a row, Citi Field will be honored for its outstanding cuisine options, this time as Best baseball Stadium food in the country,” said Mets Vice President of Ballpark Experience James Benesh. “We appreciate this award as it was voted on by our fans. It means a lot to the organization for Citi Field to maintain its reputation as one of the top culinary destinations in sports and entertainment. We pride ourselves on creating the best ballpark experience for our fans, and high-quality food options are a key component of the fan experience.”
Citi Field’s All-Star dining lineup is highlighted by ballpark favorites like Pat LaFrieda’s Original Filet Mignon Steak Sandwich, Wok n’ Roll’s Cinnamon Bun Eggroll, and Pig Beach BBQ. The Mets will also partner with multiple celebrity chefs in 2025 including Judy Joo, Adam Richman, JJ Johnson, and Kwame Onwuachi, whose menus will be on display around the ballpark this season.
Overseeing the culinary operations at Citi Field is Aramark Senior Executive Chef Jason Eksterowicz, who joined the team in the winter of 2017. Eksterowicz is known for using modern techniques as well as fresh, local, and sustainable ingredients to reinterpret traditional and classic dishes. The culinary team is rounded out by Chef Paul Horowitz, Executive Sous Chef; Julie Elkind, Executive Pastry Chef; Luis Paulino, Chef de Cuisine, Concessions; Thomas Giovanniello, Chef de Cuisine, Catering; Tim Clemente, Chef de Cuisine, Clover Level; John Sisto, Chef de Cuisine, Metro Market; Gustavo Aseng, Chef de Cuisine, Suites; Gil Faccio, Chef de Cuisine, Commissary; Darius Logan, Chef de Cuisine.
